A pH-insensitive DNA-based sensor for absolute membrane potential of cell and organelle membranes. It can target the plasma membrane, endosome, lysosome, and trans-golgi network in-vitro and in-cellulo and is relevant to various neurological disease as well as hypokalemia and hyperkalemia. This figure (Saminathan et al., Nat. Nanotechnol., 2020) shows images of Voltair-labelled lysosomes from different cell types.
